Artwest Community Gallery is a local art gallery with over 140 members showcasing 300 pieces of art in our exhibitions that change every six weeks. Entry is always free and all artwork is available for purchase. We have been operating at various locations in Brisbane since 2015 and our main gallery is located at 34 Coonan Street, Indooroopilly, above Spotlight.

Introduction to Oil Painting with Bernadette McConville

The class is suitable for all skill
levels, whether you’re a beginner, someone seeking to improve their skills, or just simply curious. The class is scheduled to run from 9.00am to 1.00pm during which time you’ll learn about colour mixing using a limited palette, understanding the colour wheel, also perspective and shading.

Our composition will be a Lorikeet– the good news is, at the end of the class, you’ll have a completed piece of art to take home with you. All materials for the class will be provided; you’ll just need to bring your own apron - there is a Coffee Shop onsite should you wish to purchase tea, coffee, juice, or a snack.

Gel Printing Workshop

Textured acrylic Seascape workshop with Lyn Fairlie

Introduction to working with texture.

Lyn will guide you through the development of a seascape canvas - painting an acrylic underlay and then adding textured paste for the waves. Finishing the painting with a varnish on the ocean to give the water a beautiful sheen.
